Suspect arrested in connection with December shooting at Ruston apartment complex

MONROE, Louisiana (KNOE) – Police officials have arrested a suspect in connection with the December 2023 fatal shooting at Park Ridge Estates in Ruston.

David Ray Taylor, 41, was arrested in Pineville, Louisiana, on two counts of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Taylor was taken to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center shortly after his arrest.

Ruston police responded to a shooting in Park Ridge Estates around midnight on December 30. Robert Thompson of Jonesboro and Tracy Hampton of Arcadia were both found with gunshot wounds.

Both victims died in hospital.

After a lengthy investigation, Ruston Police gathered enough evidence to issue an arrest warrant for Taylor.
