Man charged with theft at CT Lowes

A Vernon resident was arrested months after allegedly committing two thefts at Lowes in April, South Windsor police said Thursday in a statement from their department.

Dimitri Butler, a 32-year-old from Vernon, was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts of sixth-degree theft, police said.

According to police, the charges against Butler stem from “two separate incidents that occurred in April at Lowes” at 31 Buckland Hills Drive in South Windsor.

According to police, Butler was “already in state custody on charges from other jurisdictions” when South Windsor officers arrested Butler at 11:11 a.m. Wednesday. According to the department, Butler was “interviewed, detained and … presented to Manchester Superior Court on $2,000 bail.”

Under Connecticut law, sixth-degree theft is charged for thefts of $500 or less. It is a Class C misdemeanor.
