Pink Floyd rocker Roger Waters says there is no evidence that Hamas raped Israeli victims of the October 7 attack

Roger Waters is now facing criticism after making controversial statements about the Israel Defense Forces in the ongoing war against Hamas, which has so far claimed thousands of Palestinian lives. The Pink Floyd rocker, co-founder of the iconic band, hit back at the offensive claims about Hamas.

Roger Waters initially said there was no evidence that the victims of Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel had committed sexual abuse. He also stated that Hamas was “morally obligated to resist Israel’s occupation.”

Some controversial things Roger Waters said

The rocker made these statements while speaking to Piers Morgan. On Piers’ talk show, Roger Waters said: “I’m not saying that part of the Palestinian resistance movement didn’t cross that barbed wire fence. I’m not saying that didn’t happen at all. What I’m saying is that there’s all this talk about whether Israel has the right to defend itself. Why didn’t Israel defend itself that morning?”

He further asked: “Why did they wait seven hours before starting to machine gun everyone?”

When things got a little heated on the talk show, the rock star suggested a thorough investigation into the events of October 7.

When Piers claimed that women were raped that day, Roger Waters said: “No, they were not. There was no evidence. You can say what you want, but there is no evidence.”

The musician added that Israel had attacked its own civilians. “All these piles of cars were destroyed by Apache missiles from helicopters. Hamas had no helicopters,” he said.

He even supported the Palestinian cause, saying: “The people who are fighting for the liberation of Palestine have the legal and moral right to fight back against the oppressor. If someone invades your country, drives all the people out of their homes, steals everything and steals all your land and occupies all your land for 75 years, you have the absolute right to armed resistance.”
