County police are investigating the shooting in Silver Spring

Montgomery County police are investigating a shooting Thursday morning that left one person injured at an apartment complex on Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring.

According to radio transmissions, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue crews responded to 10805 Georgia Ave. at approximately 11:03 a.m. with the report of a shooting. Shortly afterwards, police officers ensured the security of the crime scene.

A victim was found in a building stairwell and transported to Surburban Hospital in Bethesda with Priority 2 injuries, authorities reported.

Priority 2 is defined in the Maryland Medical Protocols for Emergency Medical Services Providers as “a less serious condition but potentially life-threatening injury or illness that requires emergency medical attention but does not immediately endanger the patient’s life.”
