Flack Broadcasting – Boonville resident hospitalized after motorcycle accident in Russian town, DEC says

HERKIMER COUNTY A New York State Forest Ranger helped rescue a local resident who suffered injuries in a motorcycle accident in the Kuyahoora Valley area last month.

The incident occurred on April 29th. According to weekly highlights released via the DEC, State Forestry Officer Waligory was patrolling the city of Russia late in the afternoon.

At around 4:00 p.m., Ranger Waligory encountered an injured person in the grass north of a publicly accessible forest road.

The 54-year-old subject, who is reportedly from Boonville, New York, entered a rut while riding a dual-sport motorcycle and was thrown from the motorcycle, resulting in a separated shoulder, the DEC said.

Ranger Waligory examined the patient’s injuries, stabilized his head and called an ambulance.

Within half an hour, the Polish Fire Department and Kuyahoora Valley Ambulance arrived and transported the person to hospital.

There were no further details to report at press time and the victim was not identified by emergency personnel.
