One dead in two-vehicle crash in Spink County

SPINK COUNTY, SD (Dakota News Now) – The Department of Public Safety announced Wednesday that a man was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Conde, South Dakota on Tuesday.

Initial accident information shows that at approximately 4:48 p.m., a 2021 CanAm Defender UTV turned in front of a westbound Peterbilt truck on SD Highway 20, approximately 9 miles southwest of Conde.

The truck struck the UTV, causing it to roll into the ditch. The 77-year-old man who was driving the UTV died from his injuries.

The 60-year-old man driving the Peterbilt was not injured. He was wearing a seatbelt.

The names of those involved have not been released pending notification of family.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
