Buckingham Palace: Princess Anne hospitalized after “incident” on her estate

Britain’s Princess Anne is recovering after what Buckingham Palace called an “incident” at her home on June 23.

“The Princess Royal has suffered minor injuries and concussion following an incident on Gatcombe Park yesterday evening,” the palace said in a statement.

“Her Royal Highness remains at Southmead Hospital in Bristol for observation as a precautionary measure and is expected to make a speedy and full recovery,” the palace said. “The King has been kept updated and joins the entire Royal Family in sending the Princess his warmest love and best wishes for a speedy recovery.”

Buckingham Palace also said in a statement that she is “receiving appropriate specialist care” and that her engagement for next week “will be postponed.”

“Her Royal Highness is recovering well and is in a comfortable condition and will be kept in hospital for further observation as a precautionary measure,” Buckingham Palace continued.

Anne, 73, is the only daughter and second eldest of the four children that the late Queen Elizabeth II had with her husband, the late Prince Philiptogether with King Charles III, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward.

With her first husband, Olympic gold medalist Mark Phillips, Anne has two children, Peter, 46, and Zara, 43. The couple divorced in 1992. That same year she married Sir Timothy Laurence.
