Suspected Orlando serial rapist arrested in South Florida

Man arrested in Palm Beach County after allegedly raping woman at knifepoint in Orlando last year

A man accused of sexually assaulting a woman with a knife in Orlando was arrested Wednesday in Palm Beach County. According to deputies, probable cause was established and an arrest warrant was issued for Vincent Ernst Laing Jr. on Tuesday, and by Wednesday he was arrested for sexual battery with a deadly weapon. In another case last August, Orlando police reported that Laing forced a woman at knifepoint into a vacant apartment on Kirkman Road and raped her. At the time, they added that he could be linked to a similar crime at the same apartment complex two months earlier. When confronted, police said Laing tried to flee but was stopped. At his first court appearance, a judge ordered Laing to remain behind bars without bail. At this point it is unclear why he was released. This is a developing story.
