Amritsar Municipal Corporation convinces employees to stop protesting against night sweeping

Amritsar: The Amritsar Municipal Corporation has convinced its workers to suspend their protest against night-time toilet cleaning till Monday. The Safai Mazdur Association and the Punjab Safai Mazdur Federation had earlier announced that they would stop morning toilet cleaning. Safai Mazdur Association chairman Surinder Tona and the Punjab Safai Mazdur Federation said on Friday, “In several rounds of talks with the senior officials of the municipal corporation, they have promised to take up our problems. The next meeting is on Monday.” TNN
