BPD is investigating a fatal crash overnight on Niagara Street

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) – A 21-year-old Buffalo man has died in an overnight accident on Niagara Street near Fargo Avenue in the City of Buffalo.

According to the Buffalo Police Department, Central District officers responded to the call shortly before 12:45 p.m. ET on Wednesday. Upon arrival, accident investigators reported that a white Dodge Durango was traveling south on Niagara Street when it struck a possible skateboarder.

The 21-year-old Buffalo man who was struck was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to authorities, the Dodge Durango continued on Niagara Street before crashing into a parked vehicle. At that time, authorities said the driver fled on foot.

According to Buffalo police, the Durango is currently in police custody and officers have interviewed one person in connection with the incident.
