Food delivery driver shot dead during Imperial Valley robbery

It happened around 10 p.m. on Imperial Valley, just south of Beltway 8.

Houston police said the victim was delivering Uber Eats food and left his wife and child in the car waiting for him. When he returned to the car, the victim was approached by an unknown gunman who shot him in the chest.

The shooter then fled, then the victim got back into his car, police said. He was able to drive on the street. This is where the police intervened and provided first aid.

He was then taken to hospital.

Police said they were investigating a possible robbery because the victim was still in the apartment complex at the time of the robbery.

No description of the suspect has been released.
