Police break up large fair with 200 vehicles in Northern California

(FOX40.COM) — Police in Northern California said they recently broke up a large carnival involving about 200 vehicles and blocked traffic in the area.

Vallejo police said the sideshow took place around 4:30 a.m. Sunday at Sonoma Boulevard and Lemon Street, less than a mile from Lake Dalwigk Park.


Police added that they were assisted in breaking up the sideshow by the Solano County Sheriff’s Office and the American Canyon Police Department.

According to police, among the vehicles involved in the sideshow were the cars of two participants and the truck of a spectator of the sideshow that were towed away.

Vallejo Police have reminded sideshow attendees that attending such a show can result in significant financial consequences.

“Your vehicle will be impounded at the detention facility for 30 days, subject to various fees totaling approximately $2,589, which are as follows: Vallejo Police Department towing fee: $339, accident scene towing fee: $300, daily storage fee: $60, after-hours towing fee: $150,” police said.

The agency added that it is illegal to knowingly attend a street race on a public road or highway, as well as to prepare for a “demonstration of reckless driving.”
