Axton man charged in connection with investigation into crimes against children

According to the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, a 55-year-old man was arrested Wednesday following an investigation into a complaint of alleged sexual exploitation of children.

We’re told sheriff’s office deputies on Tuesday investigated the complaint that led to the arrest of Michael McLeese of Axton, who authorities say is a registered sex offender.

McLeese was accused of:

• Use of communications devices to facilitate certain crimes involving children (two counts)

• Violation of probation (one count)

The sheriff’s office said McLeese is currently being held without bail in the Pittsylvania County Jail.
