Animal abuse investigation underway in Luzerne County

HANOVER TWP., DISTRICT OF LUCERNE (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are investigating an incident of animal cruelty at a home in Hanover Township.

The Hanover Township Police Department said officers have received a flood of reports and tips about the abuse of a dog at a Hanover Township residence.

Investigators say the calls and tips began around 5 p.m. Wednesday. SPCA Humane Society police officers are actively investigating the abuse and have been involved since Wednesday morning.
