Man arrested after burglary investigation – WGRV.com

A burglary investigation led to the arrest of a man on Asheville Highway early Saturday morning.

Greeneville police were called to a home in the 1100 block of Forest Street around 3:40 a.m. Saturday morning after a resident reported he came home to find his home ransacked. A man wearing dark clothing and a mask was found in the back bedroom, and the two got into a small scuffle.

The suspect dropped a bag containing socks belonging to the victim as he ran out the front door toward Light Street. A sniffer dog was deployed to track down the suspect, but was unsuccessful.

About 90 minutes later, police found Luke Cutshall in the 600 block of Asheville Highway. Cutshall appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and was carrying a backpack containing several items of clothing, including socks that matched those of the victim.

Cutshall has been charged with public intoxication while the burglary investigation continues.
