Part of Savannah Highway closed to search for missing fisherman

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is advising motorists to avoid a section of Savannah Highway because police vehicles and a large crane have blocked the road.

Deputies said on X that they were investigating a report of a missing fisherman near the riverfront bar.

“This section of the Savannah Highway will be closed for the foreseeable future,” the post said.

The 2600 block of the highway is closed. That’s about a mile from Carolina Bay.
