Six people have died in a food poisoning incident in Marrakesh

Six people, including a five-year-old girl, tragically died from food poisoning after eating a meal at a fast food outlet in Marrakech’s M’hamid district.

This incident follows reports in late April that more than 20 people had to be admitted to Mohammed VI University Hospital after eating at the same establishment.

Authorities responded quickly and arrested the store owner and his employees. A health inspection uncovered spoiled food preparation meat and expired foods, which were subsequently confiscated.
