New Castle man arrested in connection with McKeesport shooting – WPXI

MCKEESPORT, Pennsylvania – A New Castle man faces charges in connection with a shooting in McKeesport.

According to police, 30-year-old Vance Sykes was arrested in New Castle on Friday.

Sykes is accused of shooting a man who was found with gunshot wounds to the leg and abdomen in a vehicle on Marshall Drive at 7:03 p.m. Sunday. The man was taken to a hospital and is in critical condition.

Allegheny County police said Vance Sykes was found nearby. He had also been shot.

According to police, witnesses said that Sykes got into an argument with the victim found in the car during a barbecue. During the argument, Sykes allegedly pulled out a gun and fired several shots.

He is accused of attempted murder, grievous bodily harm and carrying a firearm without a permit.

The investigation is ongoing.
