Israeli tourist in Brazil dies while fleeing suspected robber

An Israeli tourist in Brazil died on Tuesday after trying to escape a suspected robber, Israeli media reported.

Alma Buhadana, a 24-year-old woman from Kibbutz Yas’ur in the western Galilee, died Tuesday during a trip to the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, after trying to escape from a person she believed was trying to rob her her.

Buhadana was walking with another Israeli in the Santa Teresa neighborhood of Rio city after the two returned from the Christ the Redeemer statue.

According to Brazilian police, they saw a motorcycle and thought they were being robbed. At that moment, Buhadana jumped over a wall on the side of the road to escape and fell about 15 meters.
