Danny: The Periyakulam All Women Police have arrested five persons for allegedly sexually abusing a 19-year-old girl in Theni after the girl’s father failed to repay the loan he had taken from C Mani, one of the accused. The matter came to light after the victim lodged a complaint, stating that she was raped by the five accused about eight months ago.

According to police sources, the person Mani could not repay the money a few days after taking the loan. Mani was angry about this and allegedly instigated some people to kidnap the borrower’s daughter.

The five-member gang kidnapped the borrower’s 19-year-old daughter, who works as a nurse in a private hospital in Sivagangai, and abused her in the car. Though the video was recorded, they threatened to upload the video on the internet if she showed it to anyone.

The victim alleged in her complaint that Mani kidnapped her along with four others – Palani, N Navneet, V Suresh and Hari from Periyakulam – in a car. While Palani and Navaneet were sexually assaulting her, Mani was making videos on his mobile phones and threatened to share them on social media if she shared the incident with anyone. Meanwhile, Suresh and Hari were standing guard when the alleged assault took place.

Based on the complaint, the police have summoned all five accused and asked them to appear at the Periyakulam women’s police station for examination.
