Jeremy Renner will star in his first film since being seriously injured in a snow plowing accident.

The 53-year-old American is the latest actor to join the cast of Rian Johnson’s Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, more than a year after suffered more than 30 broken bones in the accident.

The Avengers star was injured on New Year’s Day 2023 while helping his nephew get his pickup truck out of the snow when the six-ton ​​snow plow began rolling down a slope, according to a police report.

Racer was taken to the hospital by helicopter and spent some time in the intensive care unit.

He will play the role of recurring detective Benoit Blanc alongside British star Daniel Craig in the new crime thriller, which is scheduled to hit theaters in 2025.

Among the actors already announced is British actor Josh O’Connor, who starred in Challengers and The crownIrish star Andreas Schröder by Ripley and Flea bagKerry Washington from “Scandal”, Glenn Close from “Fatal Attraction” and Cailee Spaeny from “Priscilla”.

Last week, filmmaker Johnson announced on X that the film is “close to starting production,” while plot details have yet to be revealed.
