Changes at Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens

The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens are getting a makeover.

This includes a new logo, a new website and revisions to the organization’s mission and vision statements, the Botanical Gardens reported in a statement.

The announcement says the new buffalogardens.com website is more responsive and has an easier-to-use events calendar.

The changes follow research over the past year into how Buffalo’s South Park cultural attraction relates to audiences and how to reflect its expansion plans.

Physical changes to the botanical gardens include a larger, repositioned entrance, an expanded gift shop and new classrooms and event spaces, the announcement said. There will be more than 16,000 square feet of expansions to the complex and renovations to more than 14,000 square feet of existing facilities.

“We have looked at and reflected on who we are and how we serve and engage our community,” said Mark Mortenson, president and CEO of the Botanic Gardens. “With a thriving future, we wanted the brand to reflect the magic we create.”
