Resurgence and Nick Charlap arrive at Canalside

Two local favorites are heading to one of Buffalo’s fastest-developing neighborhoods.

Resurgence Brewing Co. has moved out of Delaware Park and is opening a new beer garden in Canalside on Friday, at the former site of Clinton’s Dish.

Local chain Nick Charlap’s Ice Cream is also coming to Canalside, 44 Prime St., and is opening an ice cream stand Saturday. The two restaurant stands are just off the boardwalk, near the water and carousel, where large trees shade many of the tables and chairs.

The Resurgence at Canalside menu offers grab-and-go items like hot dogs, sausages, burgers, chicken sandwiches, salad and a veggie platter. Boneless wings and mini corn dogs served with juice and chips or applesauce are available for kids.

“We want to make sure that if you go there on a normal day, you get really high quality beer, served properly in a really welcoming atmosphere, as well as a proper food menu that includes not just hot dogs, but as much of this that you can do at a dealership,” said Jeff Ware, owner of Resurgence.
