9-month-old child dead in Fresno, police investigating | YourCentralValley.com

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Fresno police are investigating after a 9-month-old baby died in downtown Fresno.

Police said they received a 911 call around 8:30 a.m. reporting a baby unresponsive in the 3000 block of E Washington Avenue, near the intersection of First Street and Belmont Avenue.


When officers arrived, they reported finding the baby next to a bed in the bedroom.

The baby was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death is currently unknown but is under investigation.

Fresno police said the Fresno County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death. No further information was immediately available.
