1 dead in rollover crash on I-57 South Tuesday: State Police

The accident occurred late Tuesday morning on southbound I-57 near 167th Street.

TINLEY PARK, IL – One person died in a single-vehicle rollover crash on I-57 South at 167th Street Tuesday morning, Illinois State Police said.

Shortly before 11 a.m. on May 7, troopers were called to a single-vehicle crash at I-57 South and 167th Street near Tinley Park, state police said.

The driver of a car lost control before it hit the right guardrail and overturned, police said. The driver and sole occupant was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver’s identity was initially not known.

All southbound lanes will remain closed as of 12:40 p.m. as an accident investigation is conducted.
