Three people attacked in Santa Monica attack, two stabbed

Police are investigating why three people were attacked and two of them stabbed just meters from Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade.

Santa Monica police responded Sunday to a report of a knife attack in the 1500 block of 4th Street, near Parking Garage No. 7. When officers arrived, they found two people with stab wounds and a third victim of the attack without major injuries .

According to a police report, officers immediately began CPR on one person.

Police did not provide any information about the condition of the victims when officers found them. Police said the attacks were unprovoked.

According to the authorities, the two people who were stabbed were German tourists who were not related to each other.

Officers arrested Larry Ameyal Cedeno, 29; The details of his arrest were not disclosed. . At the time of his arrest, Cedeno was homeless and on probation after being charged with attempted carjacking on May 9, according to court documents.

Santa Monica police declined to provide further information on the case because the investigation is ongoing.

Cedeno is in Santa Monica Jail awaiting arraignment.
