ONEIDA COUNTY A local man has posted bail from jail after he allegedly choked two children and threatened to sexually assault one of them in northern Oneida County, authorities say.

Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy and Oneida County Child Advocacy Center Director Derrick O’Meara reports investigators arrested 36-year-old Robert Nagy of Boonville, NY last Friday.

Nagy is formally charged with two counts of criminal obstruction of breathing (or blood circulation) and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Officials say these allegations stem from a physical altercation that occurred at Nagy’s home in the town of Boonville.

It is alleged that Nagy choked two children, both under the age of 11, during the altercation.

Additionally, investigators report that Nagy pulled down the pants of one of the children and threatened to sexually assault the child.

Nagy was arraigned in CAP Court at the Oneida County Correctional Facility. He was remanded in custody in lieu of posting bail of $10,000 or $25,000.

With that in mind, Nagy was released the following day after posting $25,000 bail.

A protective order was issued on behalf of the victim and services were provided to the children through the Child Advocacy Center.
