5th of MayTh

  • Arrest Warrant – Central Ave. / San Mateo St.: At 10:23 a.m., an officer made a pedestrian stop and discovered that the person had a warrant for his arrest. The individual was arrested and taken to the Martinez Detention Center.
  • Organized Retail Theft – 11565 San Pablo Ave. (Walgreens): At 7:50 p.m., an officer reported that two suspects had entered the store and filled their backpacks with merchandise. The suspects fled before the police arrived.

May 6thTH

  • Counterfeit – 800 block of Seaview Dr.
    At 4:06 p.m., the victim reported that a check he mailed was tampered with and fraudulently cashed at a bank.

  • Shoplifting/Public Drunkenness/Resisting Arrest – 11450 San Pablo Ave. (Safeway): At 9:15 a.m., a suspect stole merchandise. The officer located the suspect and the suspect refused to cooperate with officers. During the investigation, officers discovered that the suspect was under the influence of alcohol. The suspect was arrested and booked into police custody El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Center.
  • Driving under the influence/probation violation – 7900 block of Potrero Ave. At 6:07 p.m., officers were dispatched to a collision. During the investigation, officers discovered that the at-fault driver was under the influence of alcohol. Further investigation revealed that the driver had also violated his probation. The driver was taken to the hospital and later released on a citation.
  • Battery/Vandalism – 800 Block of Liberty St.: At 8:32 p.m., the victim said he was attacked by a roommate’s son. During the battery, the suspect damaged the victim’s property. The suspect fled before police arrived.

  • Attempted Counterfeit – 11100 San Pablo Ave. (BMO Bank): At 1:27 p.m., a person was arrested for attempting to cash a lost check. The individual was positively identified and later released from the scene.
  • Assault with a deadly weapon – 8200 block of Terrace Dr. At 4:35 p.m., a victim reported his neighbor threw an object at him while the victim was working on the fence line. The report was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.
  • Driving Under the Influence – Potrero Ave. / P.56Th St.
    At 6:09 p.m., officers responded to a collision. During the investigation, officers discovered that the at-fault driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and taken into custody by police El Cerrito Police Department and later released on a citation.
  • Battery – 1700 block of Lexington Ave. At 6:46 p.m., the victim reported being pushed several times by an unknown suspect. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

May 9thTh

  • Possession of Stolen Vehicle/Probation Violation – San Pablo Ave. / MacDonald Ave. At 9:31 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the driver was on probation for theft. The suspect was arrested and booked into police custody El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Center.
  • Theft – 1700 block of Walnut St. At 10:03 a.m., a victim reported being scammed online.
  • Grand Theft – 10636 San Pablo Ave. (24 hour fitness): At 12:53 p.m., a victim reported that his electric bike was stolen from outside the store.
  • Battery – 1000 El Cerrito Plaza (happiness). At 6:02 p.m., officers responded to a reported robbery at the business. During the investigation it was determined that there was no robbery. However, the suspect was asked to leave the store and attacked an employee in the process. The suspect fled on foot before police arrived
  • Vandalism – 1700 block of Eastshore Blvd. At 3:10 a.m., the victim reported that an unknown suspect had broken the rear window of his vehicle.

10th of Mayth

  • Grand Theft – 1200 block of Richmond St. At 6:19 a.m., the victim reported that a suspect stole the catalytic converter from his vehicle.
  • Vandalism – 6800 block of Gladys Ave. At 10:52 a.m., a victim reported that a window in his vehicle was broken.
  • Shoplifting and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – 6,000 El Cerrito Plaza (Marshall’s): At 2:02 p.m., officers arrived on scene and arrested a suspect for theft of merchandise from the store. During the investigation it was discovered that the suspect was in possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was charged to the police El Cerrito Police Department and released on citation.
  • Driving Under the Influence – San Pablo Ave. / Wall Ave. At 2:45 a.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop. During the investigation, officers discovered that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and taken into custody by police El Cerrito Police Department and issued a summons.

May 11thTh

  • Shoplifting – 6000 El Cerrito Plaza (Marshall’s): At 7:08 p.m., officers were conducting a security check at the store when store security reported an impending theft. Officers located the suspect and detained him as he exited the store. The suspect was arrested and released on a summons.
  • Theft – 670 El Cerrito Plaza (CVS): At 9:29 p.m., an officer reported that two suspects entered the store, broke into several display cases and stole merchandise.

During the investigation, officers discovered that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
