Chief Denney said he has attended Police Week events twice with his first agency in Texas. He said it really made him want to work in law enforcement and he hopes that does the same for these officers.

Denney added that the community provided great support in raising funds through Crime Stoppers to enable approximately 25 people, including Marcello’s family, to travel to D.C. to attend the event.

A candlelight vigil will take place on Monday, May 13th. Memorial service on Wednesday, May 15; and Nebraska Law Enforcement Ceremony on Friday, May 17.
