Man in critical condition after bar attack

According to police, a man was in critical condition after being attacked in a bar.

Cleveland Police received reports of an attack at the Jack and Jill pub on Crossfell Road, Middlesbrough, at around 6pm BST on Saturday.

A 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody for questioning.

Officers are asking any witnesses to come forward.

Cleveland police said police wanted to “assure the local community that there is no danger to the general public.”
