Woman charged, police looking for another suspect in violent incident in traffic

A tip from the public has led Ottawa police to identify and charge two suspects in a road rage incident.

20-year-old Gabriella Maiorani of Ottawa was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon. 26-year-old Cody Chauvin faces three charges, including aggravated assault. The police are applying for an arrest warrant against him.

The charges stem from an incident on April 13th. According to police, the suspects had an exchange of sorts with a bicyclist, an unidentified woman in her 50s, on Rideau St. A man in a pickup truck witnessed the exchange and ended up in the same parking lot as the suspects on King Edward Street. Chauvin allegedly exited the Toyota vehicle in which he was a passenger and stabbed the driver of the pickup truck. The injuries were not life-threatening.
