Man arrested for alleged domestic dispute involving strangulation in front of child

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Police say a violent altercation left a victim with strangulation marks.

The incident occurred on March 8 at midnight. Shreveport Police Department (SPD) responded to a reported domestic dispute in the 8400 block of Clarice Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim who showed signs of strangulation and a violent struggle.

“Disturbingly, the altercation took place in the presence of a three-month-old infant, which increased concerns for the safety of all involved,” the SPD said.

As a result, 36-year-old Atravious Marshall was arrested and charged with domestic violence by strangulation and domestic violence with a child present.

“The Shreveport Police Department is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents, especially the most vulnerable among us,” said a news release from SPD Chief Wayne Smith.
