Armed Palestinian customs officer killed in clash with Israeli army

The IDF confirmed on Wednesday that an armed Palestinian belonging to the Palestinian Authority Customs Office was killed in an encounter with IDF forces in Tubas in the West Bank.

The military also claimed to have arrested two terrorists in Tubas in the West Bank. During the operation, an IDF soldier was slightly injured and taken to hospital for further medical treatment.

Earlier on Wednesday, Israeli state broadcaster KAN News reported that an officer of the Palestinian Authority’s customs police was killed by the Israeli army when he tried to flee with a wanted person and opened fire on security forces.

In another incident on Wednesday, KAN News reported that a military vehicle in Bethlehem caught fire after people threw Molotov cocktails at it. No injuries were reported.

In addition, Israeli security forces were deployed in Qalandiya on Wednesday morning, the Palestinian state news agency WAFA reported.
