CSP: Investigations underway after fatal bicycle accident in Hebron

A passing Good Samaritan spotted a man with a leg injury and put a tourniquet on him until emergency responders arrived, state police said.

HEBRON, Connecticut — Connecticut State Police say an investigation is ongoing after a man died Sunday in Hebron as a result of injuries he sustained in a bicycle accident.

On Sunday at 1 p.m., State Police Troop K in Colchester were called to the area around Wall Street and Route 316 because a bicyclist had been involved in an accident.

A passerby discovered a bicycle lying on a guardrail and a man with a leg injury who was standing beyond the guardrail near the wooded area, state police said.

The man was identified by state police as Cui Lin, 38, of Simsbury.

According to state police, the man called for help from others and placed a tourniquet on Lin’s leg until state police arrived at the scene.

Lin was later taken to Windham Hospital, where he died, state police said.

State police ask that anyone with information about the accident contact Trooper Justin Haggerty of Troop K by phone at 860-465-5400 or by email at [email protected].
