Suspect arrested in Splendora is free on bail for murder in Louisiana

SPLENDORA, Texas – A suspect arrested after illegal narcotics and a loaded gun were found in his car, according to Splendora police, was free on bail on murder charges in Louisiana.

Splendora police said an officer stopped a vehicle for a minor traffic violation Saturday evening.

During his investigation, the officer had reasonable grounds to search the vehicle. Inside, he found illegal drugs and a loaded weapon.

The suspect, identified in Montgomery County court records as 19-year-old Immanuel Dockery of Tallulah, LA, was arrested and charged with illegal possession of a firearm and possession of marijuana.

The agency said that after checking Dockery’s background, it found that he was out on bail in Louisiana on a murder charge.

“This incident underscores how important the vigilance and dedication of our officers is to the safety of our community,” the department said.
