Man arrested in Meridian after chase and accident

According to police, 25-year-old Timothy Kinchen was found under the influence of drugs in his car as he tried to flee and collided with another car.

MERIDIAN, Idaho — A man was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail for allegedly attempting to flee when police saw him nodding off in his car while illegal drugs were visible. The Meridian Police Department (MPD) said 25-year-old Timothy Kinchen sped up to 90 mph during the pursuit and eventually hit another car.

The incident occurred at about 11 a.m. on July 20 at the intersection of Ten Mile and Franklin, police said. Police responded to a 911 call and found Kinchen nodding off when they arrived. Police said he took off, heading east on Franklin toward Locust Grove and attempted to turn east on Pine when he collided with another car.

The MPD then arrested him. He is charged with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, resisting and obstructing law enforcement, fleeing and illegal possession. Kinchen also had two warrants out for his arrest, each for $50,000 and $300.
