Amber Alert lifted after kidnapped child found safe and sound in Missouri

To update: An Amber Alert issued in Kansas City has been lifted after a child kidnapped at gunpoint was found safe and sound in Missouri. The original story can be found below.

Authorities are asking the public for help in locating Darryl Livingston Jr., who was seen driving a silver Kia Forte with temporary license plate 018JA6.

According to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, 2-year-old Jaxon Halley and his mother were abducted at gunpoint from their Kansas home around 1:30 p.m. following a domestic dispute with the driver of the Kia.

The suspect drove the two to Missouri, where Jaxon’s mother fled near Loose Park around 3:30 p.m., according to the KBI. The suspect told Jaxon’s mother he planned to kill her and the child, according to the KBI. He may be armed with a handgun, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Jaxon Halley was found safe and sound around 8:15 a.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Livingston is still at large.

Jaxon Halley is a black toddler with brown eyes and black hair. He weighs about 40 pounds and was last seen wearing a gray Nike hoodie and blue jeans.

Livingston is black and 5’8″ tall. He has the word CUTTHROAT tattooed on his neck. He was last seen wearing a pink, purple and white basketball jersey and black denim shorts.

Livingston was last seen with the missing child in the Kia at the corner of Myer and Wyandotte Road at around 5:49 p.m.

According to court records, Livingston pleaded guilty to armed robbery in Kansas in 2012 and also pleaded guilty to charges of attempted armed robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.

In Missouri, Livingston was charged with resisting prosecution in 2023, according to court records.
