Police arrest third suspect in brazen ATM theft at Milford gas station – NBC Connecticut

In January, burglars broke into Galaxy Fuel on New Haven Avenue in Milford, attached the ATM to a small SUV and drove away with the ATM.

In the following months, the police arrested the three suspects.

Police have released further information about the events that occurred on January 30, when officers found the store’s front door ripped open and glass broken.

In at least three cities, police are investigating thefts or attempted thefts of ATMs at gas stations in recent days.

Three masked men were in the vehicle when it stopped in front of the store at 2:58 a.m., broke down the front door, went inside and used a cable to steal an ATM, police said.

The value of the ATM was estimated at $3,000 and the total damage was around $6,000, police said.

The third person was taken into custody on Monday and charged with third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal damage, conspiracy to commit first-degree criminal damage, fifth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny.

He was released on $135,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Milford court on August 13.
