According to HPD, a Houston police officer opened fire, striking a male suspect at East Tidwell and Nordling Road

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — An investigation is underway after a shooting involving Houston police broke out in the Northside area Thursday evening, authorities said.

At 9:04 p.m., police posted about the shooting on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Police said a male suspect was shot after an officer opened fire near East Tidwell and Nordling Road.

According to the Houston Fire Department, first responders were called to the scene at approximately 8:26 p.m.

Although details are limited, HFD told ABC13 that no officers were injured but did not provide an update on the suspect.

It is unclear what led to the shooting, but further information has not been provided yet.
