Woman dead after accident in Adams County | News

STRONGS PRAIRIE, Wisconsin – A Strongs Prairie woman has died after a car crash in Strongs Prairie.

Adams County Sheriff Brent York said the accident occurred at the intersection of State Highway 21 and County Highway Z.

York said a Ford F150 was traveling south on County Highway Z and failed to stop at the stop sign on Highway 21. The Ford F150 collided with a Volkswagen Jetta traveling east on Highway 21.

The driver of the Jetta was extracted from the vehicle and taken to Gundersen Moundview Hospital, where he was later released. One of the occupants of the F150 was flown by Life Link III helicopter to Marshfield Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.

The other passenger, Sharon M. Peterson, 38, was pulled from the vehicle but was pronounced dead at the scene.

York said both occupants of the F150 were not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the vehicle.

Officers are investigating who was driving the F150.

The crash remains under investigation.
