The Mets have had an impressive run. They started with a seven-game winning streak, briefly lost two of three games, then went on another four-game winning streak, taking the baseball world by storm before Saturday’s loss. Longtime fans said they were shocked by how the season unfolded.

“This is a typical Mets start to the season,” said Lester, a Mets fan. “You’re going through the highest peaks and the lowest peaks. Right now, we’re at altitude, so we’re rolling.”
