10-year-old girl kidnapped and raped in Lucknow

Lucknow: A 10-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped in Lucknow’s Banthara area, police said.

The main accused is on the run, but police said two people had been arrested for questioning.

In an FIR filed in this connection, the girl’s mother stated that her husband, a security guard, was on duty near their house when the girl went out to call him but did not return.

After waiting for a long time and not being able to contact her via her mobile phone, the family went looking for her but could not find her.

The victim’s mother stated that a teenager living in her village frequently called her daughter on her mobile phone and tried to have inappropriate conversations.

The family visited the teenager’s house, but his family members refused to give any information about the girl.

At around 11:15 p.m., the police and some villagers entered the accused’s house and found the girl locked in a room. Her hands and feet were tied with clothes.

The defendant, who was also in the same room, managed to escape.

The girl told the police that the accused and his accomplice covered her mouth as she left the house and forcibly brought her into his house. They snatched her mobile phone and threw it into a pond. Later, the accused locked her in a room in his house and sexually abused her.

South Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashank Singh said an FIR had been filed against the accused under charges 363 (kidnapping), 366 (abduction for the purpose of marriage), 376 AB (rape of a girl below 12 years of age) and 342 (wrongful confinement) of the IPC.
