Victim shot in Orange County identified

ORANGE COUNTY, Florida. – The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said a 35-year-old man was shot and killed in Wedgefield Thursday afternoon.

Officers arrived at the 20700 block of Racine Street around 1:10 p.m. and found 35-year-old Benjamin Elton Nicholls, who had been shot.

Nicholls was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

All those involved remained on site and cooperated, the statement said. In addition, the investigation is still at an early stage.
