Woman charged with drink driving, leaving scene of accident in Reading: police

READING, MA — A woman has been charged with drunken driving and leaving the scene of an accident, according to Reading police.

Police responded at 11:25 p.m. Tuesday to a report that a vehicle struck a stop sign after the curve on John Street and then sped off toward Walker’s Brook Drive.

Police found the vehicle in the parking lot of Stop & Shop on Walker’s Brook Drive. The vehicle had significant damage to the front end, police said.

According to police, the driver, 37-year-old Crystal Nguyen of Boston, failed a breathalyzer test.

Nguyen was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to respect marked lanes and hit and run.

She was arraigned in Woburn District Court on Wednesday.
