Jeremy Renner reveals gruesome scars from snowplow accident during photo shoot

Jeremy Renner, known for his roles in major films such as “The Mayor of Kingstown” and “Hawkeye” do not hide their scars. Instead, he proudly presents them on the cover of the July/August issue of Men’s Health Magazine. The 53-year-old actor spoke about the life-changing snow plowing accident that put him on life support and significantly changed his outlook on life.

RacerThe scars visible on his back, shoulders and stomach tell a story of survival and resilience. A scar on his leg is also visible in the magazine spread where he poses in workout shorts. When you think about these physical marks, Racer shared: “I never really had scars before, they were probably more emotional, mental scars, you know? And now there are some physical ones as well. But the physical ones aren’t even from the accident, they’re just caused by the accident. All of these are just memories of the beautiful day that could have been a really bad day.”

The day of the accident was described as “beautiful,“Renner remembered how close he was to death and the profound realizations that followed. “I am glad to be here and I will continue to nourish what you take with you: the shared experiences with your loved ones.. It’s eternal and you take it with you,” he said, emphasizing the lasting impact of love and connections.

Renner shared the following his vivid and transformative experience of almost dyingand said, “The things you can imagine with your eyes closed. It’s amazing. It’s amazing! And by the way, everyone is there! It’s what you imagine. It was joy. It was intoxicating peace. Intoxicating peace. You’re connected to everything at the same time.”

Renner has learned from the accident

The accident also made him appreciate the love and support of his family and friends. Racerthe father of 11-year-old Ava, admitted: “I’m a difficult guy to love, I think. And I think my family and people put all that aside. There are a lot of people who love me. And I had no idea. I had to learn to accept all that love, and that’s not easy. Even from people you don’t even know.”

Regarding his recovery and maintaining his physical health, Renner stressed the importance of hard work and a high-protein diet. “Look, I’m 53. I’m trying to build muscle and I’m going downhill. You’re atrophying, my testosterone is at 300, I have no growth hormone at all – everything is going downhill. Protein helps build muscle, so I’m eating more protein. The more strength I have, the more energy I have to keep going,” he explained.

Renner’s mantra since the accident is clear: “The only thing we can control in our lives is our perspective.” With that mindset, he is determined to continue on his path both personally and professionally, while inspiring others with his story of perseverance and strength.
