THP investigates fatal accident on I-40 in Humphreys County

WAVERLY, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash on Interstate 40 in Humphreys County Saturday evening.

The Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office said multiple agencies, including the Hickman County Sheriff’s Office, EMS, Air Evac, Hickman County Fire Department, Humphreys County Fire Department and THP troopers responded to the accident near the Humphreys County-Hickman County line.

“It took the collaboration of all the different agencies to handle the incident effectively and efficiently,” the Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post. “In times like these, we are grateful to come together as a team and help each other.”

Details of the crash were not disclosed.
