1 dead in hit-and-run accident in Ashburn on Kedzie Avenue, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) — A man was killed in a hit-and-run accident in the Ashburn neighborhood on Thursday evening, Chicago police said.

The accident occurred in the 8300 block of South Kedzie Avenue at approximately 11:58 p.m.

A black SUV traveling south on Kedzie Avenue collided with a white sedan traveling west on 83rd Street, police said.

Three men jumped out of the black SUV and ran, police said. Officers managed to arrest one of the suspects.

The man driving the white sedan was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, police said.

The detectives from Area One are investigating.
