Russia claims to have shot down 114 drones in the Krasnodar region, one dead

According to Russia, more than 114 drones were launched from Ukraine early Friday morning, June 21, with at least one person killed in the attacks.

“Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 70 drones over Crimea and the Black Sea, 43 drones over Krasnodar Region and one drone over Volgograd,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Defense Ministry also reported that the Black Sea Fleet’s naval aviation destroyed six unmanned boats of the Ukrainian Navy in the northwestern part of the Black Sea. The Kyiv Post could not confirm this claim.

In Krasnodar, an employee of a heating plant was killed when a drone hit the facility near Yuzhny railway station, regional governor Venyamin Kondratyev said on Telegram.

In addition, several administrative buildings of an oil refinery in the Severski district were damaged, he said.

The Krasnodar operational headquarters reported drone strikes in Temryuksky, Yeisk and Seversky districts. The building of the Yuzhny bus station was damaged and four people were injured in the incident.

Two more injuries were reported at the Ilyinsky oil refinery, where a fire broke out as a result of the drone attack.

This attack follows a previous one on June 20, in which Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) drones struck fuel and lubricants depots at Tambovnefteprodukt and the Enemskaya oil depot of LUKOIL-Yugnefteprodukt in Tambov region and the Republic of Adygea, the Kyiv Post reported.
