Warning days until Friday due to extreme heat

WE’LL BE GETTING THROUGH THE WEEK. RIGHT NOW IN PITTSBURGH WE’RE STILL 92 DEGREES, WINDS FROM THE SOUTHEAST, 13 DEW POINTS AT 66. THAT’S WHAT YOU’VE BEEN FEELING ALL DAY. IT’S BEEN GAY. THE HEAT INDEX IS CURRENTLY, IT FEELS LIKE 95 DEGREES. OUR RECORD HIGH IS 97 DEGREES. TODAY WE MADE IT TO 94 DEGREES. AND TOMORROW WE’LL HAVE ANOTHER VERY MILD MORNING WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW 70S TO 90S. ONCE AGAIN IN AND AROUND PITTSBURGH WE’RE EXPECTING A HIGH IN THE MID 90S. AND WHEN YOU ADD THE HUMIDITY, AGAIN, IT’S EXPECTED TO FEEL LIKE 100 DEGREES. THOSE ARE THE CELLS THAT ARE OUT THERE. WE HAD ONE THAT CAME IN FROM THE SOUTH. IT HAS DISSOLVED. BUT WE HAVE ANOTHER ONE FAR NORTH OF US, BUT IN MERCER COUNTY. AND IT HAS A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING. LET’S CHECK PITTSBURGH AND THE AREA FIRST. I’LL SHOW YOU WHAT’S HAPPENING HERE. YOU CAN SEE WE HAD THIS BIG THUNDERSTORM. IT’S BROUGHT TOGETHER AT THIS TIME. AND WHEN THAT HAPPENS, A GUST FRONT COMES OUT. YOU CAN SEE IT HERE. THAT’S DUST THAT’S BEING PICKED UP BY THAT GUST FRONT. ALONG THAT GUST FRONT. THAT’S WHICH CREATES A BURST OF AIR. AND THE HEAT AND THE HUMIDITY CAN CAUSE THESE SMALL THUNDERSTORM AREAS. AND THAT’S WHAT’S HAPPENING RIGHT NOW BETWEEN CRANBERRY TO ELWOOD CITY, JUST ACROSS THE TURNPIKE AND THEN NORTHWEST. WE HAVE A STRONGER THUNDERSTORM CELL. NOW THIS IS UP IN MERCER COUNTY AND IT’S GOING TO MOVE NORTHEAST. BUT YOU CAN SEE IT’S A STRONG THUNDERSTORM CELL THAT THEY’RE HAVING TO FIGHT WITH IN THESE AREAS. TOMORROW WE’LL SEE PARTLY CLOUDY SKY FIRST, WITH A FEW MORE CLOUDS IN THE AFTERNOON. A SPOKE OF RAIN CAN’T BE RULED OUT, BUT WE’RE NOT EXPECTING MUCH THROUGHOUT THE DAY, WE’LL TAKE IT UNTIL THURSDAY. IT WILL BE HOT AGAIN ON THURSDAY. IT WILL BE DARK. IT WILL BE HUMID OUT THERE ALL DAY ALONG I-80. THERE COULD BE SOME RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON. THAT’S IT FOR THURSDAY. THAT SHOULD BE IT WORDING. AND THEN IT’S ON TO FRIDAY AND IT WILL BE THE SAME ALL WEEK. A SCOOP OF RAIN CANNOT BE RULED OUT, BUT MOST PLACES WILL STAY DRY. So as we look tomorrow morning, we’re looking at a low of 74 degrees, partly to mostly cloudy, mild and humid. It’s going to be hazy outside due to the humidity. 95 degrees as a high. Hot, hazy, humid, there could be an isolated thunderstorm. And then we go through the rest of the week and look at those 96, 97 and 98 temperatures over the weekend. We don’t get a break on Sunday. We’re looking at a high of 94 degrees. There’s a cold front coming, so that’s bringing in the cold.
