QUEENS, NY (PIX11) – Police are offering up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest, conviction and indictment of a man suspected of raping a young girl in a Queens park.

The reward, according to the NYPD, is $3,500 from Crime Stoppers once the suspect is arrested and charged and $6,500 from the NYPD once the suspect is arrested and convicted.

The man, in his 20s, is accused of tying up two 13-year-olds with a large knife at Kissena Park near Colden Street and Kalmia Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the NYPD. He took the two children’s cell phones and abused the young girl, police said.

The attack occurred in broad daylight and sent shockwaves through the area, which neighbors say is normally quiet.

“We are very worried,” said Hassan Soueidan, a Flushing resident. “Now even my son. He doesn’t want to go to the park alone, so I have to hold his hand.”

The man is described as having short, curly hair, braces and a tattoo on his chest depicting a wild boar or bull with red eyes. Police have released a sketch of the tattoo.

Provide police with information by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), visiting crimestoppers.nypdonline.org, downloading the NYPD Crime Stoppers mobile app, or texting 274637 (CRIMES) and then entering TIP577. Spanish-speaking callers are asked to dial 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
